Montréal, Canada and Meylan, France -- July 7, 2008 -- Dolphin Integration enriches their portfolio of silicon IP for power management by launching a complete product range of switching regulators with an ultra shrunk Bill of Material. SRO and SRI Switching Regulators innovate with their inductorless architecture, a technique used for the first time in silicon IP.

"Integrating power management in mixed-signal Systems-on-Chip (SoC) causes an increasing frenzy, but raises new issues for SoC integrators", explains Yves Gagnon Technical Director for power management. "Indeed selecting power management ICs was traditionally the domain of PCB designers who could benefit from off-the-shelf products aplenty. We focus on helping SoC integrators develop solutions enabling stable efficiency and adapting to noise constraints for a safe integration in the SoC at the lowest cost."

Indeed Dolphin's SRI and SRO products deeply alleviate all SoC designers' concerns for integration. SRI and SRO products can be placed in the neighborhood of sensitive analog components on a SoC floorplan, as their power transistors do not produce more substrate noise than a digital circuit of the same size, and their switching frequency may be programmed to avoid sensitive frequency ranges.

They are also the ideal power supply for a low power SoC working on battery, as their efficiency is maintained over the input voltage range and output current range. Efficiency no longer depends on the value of external components.

SRI and SRO are launched in various configurations and process nodes for direct connection to Battery and USB port or low voltage applications. Their robustness makes them indeed easily portable to different process technologies.

Dolphin Integration's Virtual Components of IP are not a mere “make it smaller” solutions, but enable improvements to cost and overall performance of innovative Fabless products.
