M2000 Opens Silicon Valley Office Serving eFPGA Customers Throughout North America
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Feb. 21, 2005 - M2000, an innovator in reconfigurable semiconductor intellectual property based in Paris, today announced it has opened its first North American office here to provide sales and technical support for the FlexEOS range of embedded FPGA products. The new office is located at 1095 E. Duane Ave., Suite 203, Sunnyvale, Calif. Telephone: (408) 992-0835.
Jack Koplik heads the office as vice president for M2000 North America. In his long high-tech career, Koplik has held several senior sales and marketing positions in the semiconductor industry, and was director of IP business development at memory supplier MoSys Inc. prior to joining M2000. Before that he was with Vweb as managing director of sales for their MPEG video compression chips, and he also held a similar title and responsibilities at Compcore/Zoran IP.
“I’m really pleased to have the opportunity to bring M2000’s technology to the electronic-design community in North America,” Koplik said. “As the technology leader in this market, M2000 brings real solutions to some long-standing problems in IC design, and I am looking forward to introducing this technology to customers here.”
According to Gabriele Pulini, M2000 vice president of marketing, “We are very happy to have Jack with us to expand our business. His many years of experience will be very helpful as we bring our FlexEOS eFPGA line to numerous, growing applications such as telecom, networking, automotive, and digital home devices.”
Koplik holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
About FlexEOS
The FlexEOS range of embedded FPGA cores are SRAM based, and can be dynamically reconfigured to change the functionality of ASIC and SoC circuits after silicon processing and packaging. FlexEOS macros are suitable for a wide range of applications, and can be supplied for any silicon foundry technology. FlexEOS macros are currently characterized and manufactured in 90 nanometer CMOS technology. The silicon density for logic functions is up to 1,350 LUT’s per mm2, and the delay representing the LUT plus its interconnect portion is 0.372 ns. Each macro is delivered with a comprehensive software tool suite for the compilation of the applications which are to run on the macro.
Availability and Pricing
M2000’s range of FlexEOS products have been produced for some time in 130nm technology, and are now available for production in 90nm. Evaluation versions of the software are available from M2000. The comprehensive pricing structure, which can be tailored to individual requirements, includes a license fee for each project, and royalties on production chips.
