NewLogic is Ranked as #1 in Semiconductor IP Survey
Lustenau, Austria; June 28th, 2005 – NewLogic Technologies, a leading supplier of intellectual property (IP) cores for wireless systems was ranked #1 in Gartner, Inc.'s recently published 2004 Semiconductor Intellectual Property (IP) Survey for Wireless Interfaces, Wireless LAN and Bluetooth IP. Measured by total revenue worldwide for 2004, NewLogic was the largest vendor in each of these market segments (1).
“We believe that the high-quality of our IP and the strength of our engineering team enabled us to achieve this position in the market”, stated Mana Coste, Director Sales and Marketing for IP and IP Integration at NewLogic Technologies. “We currently see the market maturing, with a trend towards increased integration of complex wireless IP into SoCs. This trend is driven by the need to customize existing solutions to address applications where off-the-shelf chipsets do not offer the right differentiation. We have been very successful in winning customers in 2005 so far and expect to maintain our leadership position.”
According to the Gartner report, the semiconductor IP market posted growth of 21 percent in 2004, with the market expected to grow faster than the overall semiconductor market during the next five years.
NewLogic’s Bluetooth® Solution
NewLogic’s BOOST™ IP family includes the Bluetooth baseband processor, a full Bluetooth software protocol stack and a Bluetooth CMOS radio.
The NewLogic BOOST™ Bluetooth baseband processor has a very low gate count and is designed in a modular way, which enables it to be easily integrated into SoC’s. This has enabled NewLogic to emerge as the No.1 supplier of Bluetooth basebands for SoC designs. The baseband is also designed to be processor independent and whilst most customers integrate it with an ARM CPU, it can also work with other CPU’s and with proprietary processor cores. The NewLogic BOOST™ Evaluation Platform is Bluetooth v1.2 certified.
NewLogic’s Wireless LAN Solution
NewLogic is the only system IP provider who offers the whole WLAN IP solution, consisting of Software, MAC, Modem and Radio. NewLogic’s WLAN IP is silicon-proven in CMOS and is available for licensing together with the related software stacks and extensions. The Radio is available as IP or can be supplied as IC by one of NewLogic’s licensees.
Combined with NewLogic’s excellent track-record in Design Services, NewLogic enables customers to efficiently offer cost-competitive embedded system solutions for various applications including industrial and automotive controllers, smart cards, mobile phone baseband and application processors.
Demonstrations of NewLogic’s innovative solutions can be given worldwide at customers facilities or in the NewLogic offices in Lustenau (Austria), Sophia-Antipolis (France) and Munich (Germany).
