Xignal accelerates transition to fabless semiconductor model with appointment of Sean Moynagh as Director of Operations
Munich, Germany, June 1, 2005: Xignal Technologies AG, the high performance mixed-signal semiconductor company, has announced the appointment of Sean Moynagh (45) as Director of Operations. In this role Moynagh will establish and manage Xignal’s manufacturing infrastructure and accelerate Xignal's transition from an IP licensing company to fabless semiconductor business.
Moynagh joins the company from ST Microelectronics where he was responsible for production of wireless integrated circuits. He has over 20 years' semiconductor experience, primarily in production and test, with blue-chip and start-up companies including Analog Devices, Amkor, Robert Bosch, CS2 and, most recently, Synad Technologies - a company acquired by ST Microelectronics in 2004.
Commenting on Moynagh's appointment, Executive Vice President at Xignal, Mike Levis, said, "Sean brings a rare combination of skills and experience to Xignal. His production and test expertise in high performance analog ICs, combined with his various roles in both start-ups and global semiconductor companies makes him ideally suited to this new position. We will shortly be making our first new product announcements and moving to volume manufacturing early in 2006. Sean's experience in this area will help ensure that the effectiveness of our operations matches the quality of innovation that Xignal is about to reveal to the marketplace."
Xignal Technologies AG develops and markets mixed-signal ICs that enable new system architectures through significant improvements in performance and in power consumption. Xignal delivers multi-market products that are of value to customers across a wide spectrum of applications such as medical, automotive, consumer and communications segments. Xignal has world-class expertise in analog-to-digital converters, silicon timing products, VDSL AFEs and 10Gb/s transceivers.
