This hot corner aims to present the state of the art of DSP implementation on FPGA.
DSP IP has traditionally been available from the main FPGA players and their third party IP partners but it is also now generated by DSP Synthesis tools, such as Synplicity's Synplify DSP Software. The DSP Synthesis path allows additional optimizations such as system-level retiming, folding and multi-channel resource sharing and, of course, a technology independent IP and tool chain.
This D&R DSP Hot Corner has been created in order to help designers explore if technology-optimized DSP IP or technology-independent IP generated/optimized by DSP Synthesis can meet the design requirements when mapped onto an FPGA.
